15 Haziran 1826 - SULTAN II. MAHMUD YENİÇERİ OCAĞI'NI KALDIRDI
Sultan II. Mahmud, Yeniçeri Ocağı'nı kaldırdı. Yerine Asakir-i Mansure-i Muhammediye adıyla yeni bir askeri teşkilat kuruldu. Bu olay, Osmanlı tarihinde Vaka-i Hayriye (Hayırlı Olay) olarak anıldı.
